The Body Shop Advent Calendar 2016 – Review

As soon as I saw The Body Shop Advent Calandar I just knew I had to have it. I’m a very lucky girl indeed, considering Andy wanted to get it for me too! (Think he liked it all that bit more when he saw it was the last day of their 40% off everything sale 😉 )

So I’ve decided to give a review of this lovely calendar, I would have loved to open it all and shown you before December but I’m an extremely boring person and love to stick to the rules!

First off… can we just talk about the packaging? Oh em gee.

I seriously do not want to remove this calendar from my shelf.

I love the gold and red tones in it and the little boxes inside are to die for! I also love how The Body Shop put the emphasis on the natural ingredients with the awesome “The World Is Our Source Of Beauty” quote!

Now for what was inside!

DAY ONE:

Green Tea shower gel, this smells so fresh and lovely! In the small bottle but absolutely love this scent and makes my skin feel so good afterwards.

DAY TWO:

These exfoliating gloves are so handy to have! I love using them in the bath before I apply fake tan to exfoliate!

DAY THREE:

This lip balm smells divine, probably not the best lip balm out there for my dry lips but it does the job and you occasionally get that fruit smell out of the blue!

DAY FOUR:

You don’t even know how excited I was when I got this one out of day four! A full size product that I’ve always been so obsessed with! This works wonders for dry chapped hands and dry cuticles! Almonds are amazing for your skin!

DAY FIVE:

I got this buffing block which is handy to pop in my handbag as my nails chip so much in the winter and its good to just buff off them catchy edges!

DAY SIX:

I got this lovely orange red nail polish on day 6, I love colours like this in the summer so it’s so perfect!

DAY SEVEN:

I was a bit dissapointed when I saw this was a tiny pot but my god does this product go a long way! The formula is so rich so you only need a little bit on your face and it will do it all! Vitamin E works wonders for dull tired skin. My skin feels amazing all day with this!

DAY EIGHT:

This muslin cleaning cloth is so handy considering I want to get the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser soon! You can never have too many!

DAY NINE:

Almost like day 7, however, this is a night cream. Once again, a little goes a long way and my skin looks glowing after I wake up! It smells amazing too!

DAY TEN:

You can never have too many eyeliners! I’ve never tried body shop makeup but I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised!

DAY ELEVEN:

I LOVE this serum, it’s just a shame the bottle isn’t bigger as this is tiny! But a little goes a long way and I apply this before my Vitamin E night cream and it really does help with the ‘glow’ look in the morning!

DAY TWELVE:

It’s always handy to have a nail file! And what I love most about this is that it’s a thick nail file. Being a beauty therapist I hate the flimsy ones, you can’t do anything with them! So this is like music to my ears!

DAY THIRTEEN:

I love a good lip and cheek tint! This will be so handy for holiday as it last all day and I can swim and still look like I’ve got some sort of makeup on!

DAY FOURTEEN:

I love the smell of camomile and I love this eye makeup remover has it in. I always find after a day of filming makeup tutorials or wearing heavy makeup my eyes can become so sore from all the lash glue and crap I put on my face! So this is a God-send!

DAY FIFTEEN:

I needed a new kajal liner so this was appreciated! I love the thick handle, so much easier to use than a thin pencil.

DAY SIXTEEN:

If you want to smell like Christmas, this product is for you! It smells like an apple crumble fresh out of the oven. I mean, what’s not to love?!

DAY SEVENTEEN:

If you know me, you will know I have a little bit of an obsession with makeup brushes. So I was like a kid in a candy store when I opened up this day! The brush is so soft and is perfect for blending eyeshadows!!

DAY EIGHTEEN:

A couple days before this I got a new lipstick and thought “Damnit, I forgot a liner!” It’s almost like this calendar heard my thoughts! It’s such a nice corally-brown colour.

DAY NINETEEN:

I use these on my exfoliating gloves before I tan to get the max exfoliation my body needs! I love rose smells too, as they remind me of my nana so it’s a comforting scent to me!

DAY TWENTY:

Eeek, this got me bouncing round the room. A full size bottle of facial oil? Can we get a hell yes!
I love oils for my face, it helps keep my hormonal acne at bay and helps it repair after too much wear and tear!

DAY TWENTY ONE:

I’m so glad I didn’t go out and buy one now! I love clear gels, just to condition your brows and lashes and make it look like you’re wearing something when you’re not!

DAY TWENTY-TWO:

Can a beauty youtuber/blogger really have too many eyelash curlers?

DAY TWENTY-THREE:

This body butter is a HUGE full size product! I was a bit taken aback at first! Again, I love the rose smell and I love the rich formula of the body shop body butters!

DAY TWENTY-FOUR:

This stuff does exactly what it says on the tin. Glowing all day erry day! When it dried it does make my face a little itchy (as most face masks do) and I go a bit red but the next morning my skin looks so healthy again!

DAY TWENTY-FIVE:

This was a surprise as this day wasn’t advertised so I had no idea what I was getting! I love the eye mask and this Oils of life overnight cream! Perfect for a pamper evening!

What’s your favourite product from this calendar?

I’d have a hard time choosing!
