My 6 holiday must haves

Every girl needs their holy grail travel beauty products – especially when going on holiday. Over the years of travelling I’ve managed to find my staple products I need when going somewhere sunny.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil

This is perfect for enhancing your tan on holiday , giving your legs that gorgeous shimmer and glow and making you look like a bronzed goddess. It washes off too so you won’t look like a sparkly unicorn every single moment of the holiday – unless that’s the look you’re going for!

Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Tissue Mask

I freaked out when I saw this – if you know me you know I love a good sheet mask! My skin has neutral undertones so I normally burn first and then tan until I have a base layer then I will continue to tan. Ever since I was a child underneath my eyes and my nose burn to high heaven – no matter how much suncream I apply. This mask is specially for your face and has has hydrating  and smoothing properties for my poor face while it recovers from the sun!

Bed Head Beach Queen Salt Infused Texture Spray

When I think of a holiday I think of beachy waves. My hair is naturally curly – only when it’s hot and humid. Britain hardly ever gets hit enough for my wet hair to kink up into ringlets and waves – so to help with the salt water on holiday I use this Bed Head Beach Queen spray to crumple up my curls and give them a more defined look. If you’re hair is straight – this won’t give you curls but will help your hair have that tussled look.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Dry Touch Protective Mist

I’m a beauty therapist – so I know the need for suncream and why it’s so important. However I hate the feel of it on my skin. Feeling sticky all day is really not for me! This applies like a mist so there’s no claggy feeling on my skin. Having said that it’s factor 50+ but the UVA star rating is only a 3. For those who don’t know the Factor rating is not what you should look for – this is a general guide for how long you need to go without reapplying. Factor 20 – 20 mins. Factor 50 – 50minutes. The star rating is out of 5 – 5 being the best protection against harmful UVA rays. So a factor 20 sunscreen with a 5 star rating will always be better than a factor 50 with 2 stars. For that reason I will be applying a 5 star factor 50 in the mornings and then top up with this heoughiut the day.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

I try my best to not wear makeup on holiday – the sun is so good for drying up my oily skin but for evenings and photos I like using a CC cream  – it has SPF15 to protect from the sun while giving just a little bit of sheer coverage.

Umberto Giannini Pool Proof Hair Protection Cream

This is my ultimate holy grail – it leaves your hair so soft to touch and helps de-tangle it. It protects coloured hair from UV damage as well as chlorine and salt water damage, which is perfect for me considering I normally have my hair highlighted with blonde before a holiday. It’s essentially sunscreen for your hair- what’s not to love?!

All of these kept me sane and feeling beautiful on Andy and I’s trip to Kefalonia.
